Introduction :-
Sariska is situated in the state of Rajasthan. Sariska is basically famous for 'Sariska National Park'. this park is near to Jaipur. Its located among the Aravali hills ranges in the Alwar district of the Rajasthan Sariska was declared as a sanctuary in the year 1955. This sanctuary came under the project Tiger in 1979 and became a National park in 1982. It is located at Kankwari fort, near Alwar. It has a total area of 788 sq kms with a core area of approximately 47 kms. At last count in 1985 35 tigers were found there. Other Carnivores of the area are the Panthe, jungle cat, sambhar, chital, nilgai and jackal. The bird life comprises of the gray partridge, quail, sandgrouse, tree pie, pea fowl and great Indian horned owl. There are also historical monuments within Sariska's confines that are symbolic of its past.
