RajasthanBikanerCity Guide

History :-

Rao Bikaji the founder of Bikaner. According to the legends , Rao bikaji sought the blessings of Goddess Karni at Deshnoke before embarking on his campaigns. An unusual feature of the temple is the innumerable rats that have made this temple their home. Rats of this temple are considered as the future incarnations of some mystic child of the temple deity. bikaner has played a notable role in the history of country. Bikaner state has produced several general worriers and distinguished rulers. The famous name is Raja Anup Singh who ascended the throne in AD 1669 a scholar and warrior. His period has been described as "the Golden Time of Bikaner valor and fame". The city was already on the old caravan trade route that linked Central Asia, China and the Middle East to North India and the Gujarat seaports. The harsh desert climate aided Bikaji's descendants in preserving a leisurely lifestyle and custom that remained unchallenged by outside intervention. By the 16th century, the conflict with the Delhi Sultanate did not last. With the decline of the Mughals, the kingdom signed a peace treaty with the British in the 17th century. In the latter part of that century, a more Maharaja Ganga Singh preserved the economic integrity of the city until Bikaner became a part of the Indian union in 1947. at present the city is developing fast into an individual tourism center.

Climate of Bikaner :-

It has got extreme desert type of climate with high temperature difference and low rainfall. The best season to visit Bikaner between October and March. Also during any festival period its a real pleasure to visit this city.
